The Coldstone's Sculpture

Exciting news!   nidderdale visual arts, Hansons Aggregates and Yorkshire Quarry Arts supported by Nidderdale Plus have been  working in partnership to develop an iconic landmark structure synonymous with Coldstones and Nidderdale which will be an innovative piece of art work replacing the old Quarry Viewing Platform. From the sculpture it will be possible to view and interpret the quarry, the Nidderdale landscape and beyond. The onset of trhe build will be March 1st 2010 and is anticipated that the opening will be in September/october 2010

 

Creative North Yorkshire

This Creative North Yorkshire website is designed to help and support creative practitioners and creative businesses across York & North Yorkshire. The site has a range of features to encourage networking and new activities, and provides: " Information and opportunities for those working in the arts-based creative industries in York & North Yorkshire. " Creative businesses that are available for work and commissions throughout the UK and abroad. The menus take you to the various features of the site. " Directory - lists individuals and organisations working in York & North Yorkshires creative industries, including how to contact them and find out about their work. " Listings - contains information about creative industry events and activities, such as trade fairs, exhibitions, performances, conferences, seminars and commissions. The Old Workhouse Site

The Old Workhouse is the new brand name for the site formerly known as the King Street site. The name and new signage reflects the development of the site as a heritage and creative industries site for Nidderdale. It houses the Nidderdale Museum and a range of specialists craft workshops. Niddedale Plus are working closely with Harrogate Borough Council, who own and manage the site, to develop and market units suitable for and attractive to creative practitioners. Two new units will be created on the site of 4 old garages on the site. It is intended that these will be ready in the early part of 2009. VAN works with policy makers, funders and politicians to improve the environment for everyone participating in the arts, and we provide information and training to those who participate in the voluntary arts sector.
